Thou Mayest Coffee Roasters

Hip, compact hangout offering coffee made from house-roasted beans, plus a full bar & baked goods. This two-story coffee house is located in the Crossroads and is HOPPIN on First Fridays. Their high quality cocktails set them apart from their competitors, and comfy seating keeps people coming back for more. As one reviewer put it: "Thou Mayest strikes a rich balance between handcrafted coffee drinks and a relaxed lounge environment that invites you to meet up with your friends and stay for hours."
Oddly Correct Coffee Roasters

Rustic-chic, brick-lined coffeehouse with its own line of beans, plus tea & espresso drinks. This spot stands out because of it's AMAZING coffee. No sugar added though, so Starbucks fans beware. Keep in mind that they have limited seating, so grab-and-go may be your best choice. As one reviewer puts it: "Simple Review: The best cup of coffee I have ever had in my entire life. Bar none." Located downtown on Main Street.
Quay Coffee

Located in the River Market, this hangout brewing spot offers direct-trade beans & pour-over cups in an industrial-chic, exposed-brick setting. With a large service bar, multiple tables, and a large meeting room, there is a lot of space for study, reading, working, meeting, and socializing. They serve breakfast food along with coffee, have a thorough knowledge of all things coffee and offer from-scratch hot chocolate!
Opera House KC

A River Market favorite, this expansive coffee house serves food, smoothies, pastries, alcoholic beverage and entrees all day long. They even host events, like comedy shows, burlesque shows and poetry slams. Their cool, quirky cafe has free Wi-Fi and chill background music. Bonus: the street car stops right outside!
Mildred's CoffeeHouse

Laid-back cafe serving espresso drinks, breakfast & lunch sandwiches, plus salads. They boast a delicious selection of pastries, yummy bacon and amazing quiches (call ahead if you want one though!). Their Wyandotte location offers plenty of close parking, and their warm staff will keep you toasty during the chill! Plus, as one reviewer puts it, "The best breakfast sandwich in the universe".
Filling Station Coffee

Whether you're looking for coffee, juice or food, this local favorite is a must-visit. They offer locations in Westport, Midtown and Overland Park, and each coffeehouse offers its own, unique vibe. Baristas know their stuff, there are pastries galore and they serve Messenger coffee. Fun fact: it's also a remodeled gas station! Enjoy the large patio during the warmer months and their nice indoor seating during the wintertime. Keep in mind that this place gets busy!
