More than just an internet marketing company, we specialize in everything from social media to SEO to web development.
Before we jump into what we do though, this breakdown of Internet Advertising should give you a feel for what kind of work actually goes on behind these magical money makers. An internet marketing company doesn’t just act as a liaison between your company and the advertising hosts. Research, strategy, and campaign monitoring all go on behind the scenes to give you the numbers you’re wanting.
With paid search, you’re able to bid on relevant terms that will cause a text-based or image-based ad to be displayed to users when they search for that exact term in Google or Bing. The management of these ads is done through Google Adwords, a program that lets you manage your bids, control when your ad is shown, and regulate your different campaigns. Typically, an internet marketing company will have hands-on involvement in every step of the advertising process. Whether you want to trust an algorithm or an expert, Adwords lets you manage the most minute detail of your campaign. One of the best parts about Google Adwords is that it tries to create an even playing field for the little guys. Advertisers bid only on keywords, and they enter an ad auction which combines the bid and landing page quality to determine how ads will rank. Advertising through Google Adwords guarantees that your ad gets seen by the right people. If I search ‘roof repair service’, the first four results are paid advertisements. Even if you’re using SEO to drive organic results, it’s going to be very difficult for you to show up at the top of a page.
Paid Social Media Advertising
Making your brand known on social media used to be easy, but now these platforms will place your updates lower on people’s newsfeeds if you’re not paying for advertising. The logic is that people are more interested in getting updates about their friends and family than the businesses they follow. But it’s no coincidence that this also forces companies to shell out the money to compete with their competitors using paid advertising. Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter all offer advertising options. They know how to incorporate native advertising and content marketing to get you the most bang for your buck, and an internet marketing company knows which platforms will be the best choice for your company and target demographic.
You can boost your followers through advertising on Twitter, a great option if you want to increase your brand reach. Much like Google Adwords, you only pay for the followers you gain. It’s to Twitter’s advantage to gain you followers, so you know the social media site will do everything possible to get your name out there. This option is good for accounts that have fewer than 1,000 followers but tweet frequently. If you want to create a campaign for website visits, Twitter can help you with that too. Twitter connects your ad with people who are interested in your product. You’re only billed for the number of website link clicks. If you’re trying to maximize brand awareness, you can promote your tweets and pay for the number of impressions you get. For greater tweet engagement, you only pay for the initial engagement, not the organic engagements that follow. If you’re confident in your brand and think it can hook a long-term follower, this is the option for you. Take advantage of the correlation between Twitter engagement and brand lift/online sales. This is an ideal option for accounts that have lots of media or videos on third-party platforms that you want to share. If you’re marketing a new product or store location, make it known that people are excited.
A platform that reaches 41% of all 18 to 34 year-olds in the US is a platform you (or the internet marketing company managing your brand) should be taking advantage of. With over 150 million users, this app has expanded beyond simple photo snaps into storytelling magic. Snapchatters watch over 10 billion videos a day, a 350% increase from the previous year.
If you want to go with a good old fashioned Snap Ad, you’ll get (up to) a 10-second vertical, full-screen video ad that appears in the context of other Snaps. To really drive website visits or app installs, you can also opt to have a swipe up and see more option. Swiping up reveals long form videos, articles, app install ads or mobile websites.
Sponsored Geofilters let you target specific locations that are most likely to result in brand awareness and conversions. When someone takes a photo or video, they can swipe to show people where they are, major events going on around them, or national holidays. A single National Sponsored Geofilter normally reaches 40% to 60% of daily Snapchatters. That’s millions of impressions.
Probably the most engaging of the advertising options with Snapchat is sponsored lenses. What if instead of just looking at your brand name, users could actually play with your brand? Sponsored lenses allow millions of people to take a unique part of your brand (ie: a taco face for Taco Bell’s campaign) and play around with what the filter can do. Even better, they send this to a friend, who notices your brand’s logo in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. People don’t even care that it’s sponsored content, because they’re getting something entertaining out of the deal. The average Snapchatter will spend 20 seconds playing with a Sponsored Lens. Snapchat is currently expanding its digital advertising reach to replicate some of the options used by Facebook.
Use photo ads in either a square or landscape format to draw in business. With the option to add dozens of filters, you don’t even need a fancy camera to get the tone you’re looking for. Video Ads do even more for your business, showing people exactly what they can expect from a visit to your store or website. You can create one minute videos in landscape or square format. Add an interactive element to really make your ad stand out. A Carousel Ad lets you create a slideshow of sorts, so people can scroll through either a series of photos or one continuous image that tells a story about your brand. There are more than 1.7 billion people on Facebook every month. People in the US are on Instagram or Facebook during one of every five minutes that they’re on their phone. Their similarity to Instagram means there are 500 million Instagrammers on the app every month. Unlike Instagram though, Facebook encourages sharing and produces written content that Instagram really can’t match. If you’re looking for a more professional platform geared toward all ages (though skewed toward the older generations), Facebook is the way to go.
With Facebook business, you can choose your audience based on demographics, behaviors and contact information. An internet marketing company will know how to utilize the tools needed for demographic research. Think of all the stuff you can find out about someone just by looking at their Facebook page. Now imagine being able to utilize this information to target only the people who are interested in your products or services. An ad lets them know you’re out there, and may even get some likes on your Facebook page. Facebook ads have great connection speed (users don’t have to wait forever for your video to load) and are available on any device. Like most social media platforms, Facebook offers an ‘ads reporting tool’ to show you exactly how many impressions and interactions your post is getting. Choose between carousel ads, photo ads, video ads, slideshows, and canvas ads to find the format that’s perfect for you. Reports are easy to understand, and you can schedule reports to be automatically sent to every person in your marketing department at a specific time each month.
