A Unique Way to Bridge Offline and Online!

Marketing with QR codes are not new but our job is to come up with new and exciting ways to use current technology to help our clients increase sales or decrease expense.  Our latest idea is the creation of a QR code that is then placed on a piece of equipment.  The equipment needs to be larger enough to place a QR code on it somewhere but the readers today can scan something pretty small.  Imagine someone is beside your piece of equipment and they have a question.  They can just scan the QR code on their mobile phone and access:

  1. 1.Videos on how to use the piece of equipment. Say you have a new employee or you’ve inherited a piece of equipment.  You can scan the QR code on the side and click on Videos and see a list of videos on how to use the piece of equipment directly in front of you.  The person can pause the video while they try to execute what they just saw.
  2. 2.Images of finished products. Most of the time machines produce something.  In this case the person using the piece of equipment could scan the QR code and click on Images and see pictures of the finished product, show how the product looks in mid stream, etc.
  3. 3.Technical documentation. Maybe someone is there trying to repair the piece of equipment.  Everyone always keeps their technical documentation handy right – wrong.  This way the repairman can scan the QR code and click on Documents and bring up the full specs of the piece of equipment he’s trying to repair.
  4. 4.How to order parts. Assume the repairman has found out what the problem is but he needs to get a new part.  He can scan the QR code and click on Parts and be taken to documents, a mobile web site, etc. to order parts right then.

Other information can be added as needed.  You get the idea though.  We can use the technology of the QR code and the smart phone to bring information to the right person at the right time.  From what we know about B2B marketing a large portion of their revenues are made up of part orders.  This makes it easy and when it’s easy the part order should come your way more than not.
